Alert Issued as Heavy Rainfall Expected, Public Urged to Stay Vigilant

Kathmandu: The monsoon trough's current position has shifted further north than its typical location. Consequently, Nepal, along with central Madhya Pradesh and neighboring areas in India, is currently affected by a low-pressure system, as reported by the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

According to the Division, the skies are generally cloudy across the country. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is anticipated in certain areas of Sudur Pashchim Province and hilly regions in the rest of the country. Additionally, heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is predicted for a few locations in Sudur Pashchim.

Similarly, for tonight, overcast skies are expected throughout the nation. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is forecasted for certain areas in Koshi, Madesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. These atmospheric conditions are also projected for a few places in the remaining provinces. There is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning occurring at one or two spots in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini, as noted by meteorologist Sanjib Adhikari.

The Division has issued an advisory for the public to remain cautious, as heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning is anticipated in specific regions of the country over the next 24 hours.
